ROMANTIC GETAWAY
Just as its title suggests, we had a quick & romantic getaway on Tue. Steve had something to do in San Diego and so off we went to SD early morning.

While Steve did his thing, I went for a brisk walk around the Old Town of San Diego. It has so many nice old buildings that still carry the Spain/Mexico architectural structures in it. I went for this LIVING ROOM CAFE along the road and had a hearty american breakfast.

Before I entered the cafe, there's this man walked with his big dog. When the man was talking to someone, the dog just came to me and put his head on my thigh begging me to pat him. How adorable. Of coz I'm not wasting anytime on it and off I pat the dog, until it moves its head around like cat. But the minute he reliazed its owner not around, he ran to him and left me behind. The dogs here really good and smart.

The cafe has outdoor and indoor sitting. In the indoor sitting, they used an old antique sofas, like those you can find in big mansion/castle, but OLD. Then they use big antique table too and some of them were just plain wood.

The outdoor sitting is nicer. It's open area with lots of tree and umbrella for shades. They use outdoor garden table and chairs. Very colorful and breezy. I sat outside, of coz, and really enjoyed the whole experience. The best part, no one was smoking, at all. How wonderful the fresh air.

Right after breakfast, Steve finished his thing. So we went for a walk around the Old Town Market (that will be my 2nd time in there). We went to this Bazaar Town, which practically sell the exact same thing as the one in the Old Town Market.

So on our way back, I found this Crafts store that sells so many Stamps for cardsmaking and scrapbooking. Oh my...I was like in heaven. I went inside for, i think, 30mins, and my poor Steve just waited outside. I think he prefer the fresh air than looking at the variety of stamps hanging above his head. I bought 2 stamps from there and a 50% off stamp pad. What a bargain.

We later went for lunch at the pier. We had fish & chips and fish tapas. Then we crossed the bridge to the CORONADO ISLAND and had a swim at the beach. I realllly love this Coronado Island...the town is so small, vibrant, colorful, just love all of it. The best part, I get to swim at the beach. I'm soo happy!

At first Steve was hesitate to swim in the beach (he prefer pool), but since I kept on dragging him and taught him the tricks on playing with the waves, we just play and play for so long. So fun!!! Good thing we applied lots of sunblock, so I dont think we get any tan. Fiuhh....

After the swim, we went to the other end of the island and had a walk around the pier/harbour. So many shops and people. There was this Farmes Market. I was so excited that I jst dragged Steve to there. I bought avocadoes, blackberries, rasberries and my best bought is a CORRIANDER (they call it here, CILANTRO) plant. Finally I found the plant and I could just grow it and eat from there, instead of keep buying from market.

However, on our way back to LA, there was accident along the highway which caused horrible jam. Thank goodness that's on the opposite road, but still we're stucked in jam. I think ppl are just so busybody wanting to see the accident. So instead of 1.30hrs drive home, it became almost 3hrs. We stopped at this town called Irvine for early dinner. We had a healthy vietnamese dinner and I bought Cream Buelle (if i'm not mistaken on the spelling), baked pudding and mango mochi (not nice at all) at the Bakery shop nearby.

We finally reached home around 6pm and sooooo tired! Oh yah, once home, I showed Steve the hidden statue at our back garden that I discovered accidentally when I was picking the oranges from the back hill. It's really scary. It's covered by the trees and at this very weird spot in our back hill garden. I kept on having scary imagination whenever I look at it.
